Tilton School Art Gallery is proud to announce a new exhibition featuring original work by New Hampshire-based fine artist Monica Côté. Known for her immersive plein-air landscapes, Côté’s latest collection highlights the natural beauty of the surrounding landscapes through a series of vibrant chalk pastel and watercolor paintings.
Côté’s show will include a selection of chalk pastel landscapes featuring focal points from campus and created by Tilton School student and faculty participants of her recent on-campus workshop. Additionally, artwork from students in the Drawing & Painting and Advanced Ceramics classes will be featured, showcasing unique skills Côté taught in her two-week residency, including chalk pastel techniques and surface design methods such as sgraffito and slip trailing.
“Because of this art course I learned how to do something completely new, and it was great to learn about chalk pastels with an artist who works in this medium.“
– Nina Wolff-Diepenbrock ’26 (Drawing & Painting Class)
An opening reception will be held in the mansion and art gallery on Monday, November 11, following the Fall Afternoon Program Awards and formal dinner. The exhibition will be on view through February 2, 2025.
Join us to celebrate Monica Côté’s artistry and the creative achievements of our students. This show promises a dynamic blend of professional and student work that underscores the transformative power of art in education.
