During the summer of 2022, Tilton faculty members Julie Caldwell and Terri Smith took the trip of a lifetime to explore Spain’s Camino de Santiago, a famous pilgrimage that stretches the northern part of the country. For their journey, the duo walked 150 miles of the 200-mile Camino Frances, one of the most popular sections of the larger route. Made possible thanks to a grant from the Jeffries/Weiss ’61 Award for Excellence in Teaching, awarded to Caldwell in 2019, the journey was a chance to be immersed in culture, create art and connect with nature.
