It’s time to celebrate the Class of 2023! Commencement is on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. on the Residential Quad. For more details about Commencement and the associated events and celebrations, please use the tabs below. If you have questions, feel free to contact our Director of Alumni & Parent Engagement, Pam deVeaux.
The 177th Commencement will take place on Saturday, May 27th at 10:00 am (EST). Commencement will be held outdoors on the Residential Quad. If there is inclement weather, Commencement will be held in the MARC gymnasium and we would limit it to two guests per household. Commencement is a formal occasion that typically lasts approximately 90 minutes.
There is no limit on the number of guests who can attend Commencement. Seating is first-come, first-serve. Guests typically arrive one hour before the ceremony to get their seats and take photos with their graduates.
Tilton School will have a photographer on site who will take photographs throughout the ceremony and as each graduate receives their diploma. The photographs will be available to download on PhotoShelter. Commencement will be recorded and available for viewing following the ceremony on the Tilton School YouTube channel.
Senior Dinner is a required formal sit-down dinner on Friday, May 26, 2023, at 6:30 pm (EST). Dinner will be held in the Masiello Dining Commons. Senior Dinner is an opportunity for the seniors, their parents and the faculty to reflect on their time spent at Tilton. Following the meal, Mrs. Saunders offers remarks about the graduating class and the senior slideshow is presented.
Senior Dinner is limited to seniors and two guests (per household) due to the formal nature of the occasion and limited seating. Guests of seniors who plan to attend should email Pamela deVeaux, at pdeveaux@tiltonschool.org by May 12, 2023.
Baccalaureate follows the Senior Dinner, graduates and their parents and guests, along with the faculty attend a brief program of readings and music performed by the graduates in the Fred A. Smart Chapel. Although space is limited, additional family members and guests are welcome to attend this formal event.
The baccalaureate ceremony typically lasts 60 minutes.
There will be parking on campus, however, it is limited. We recommend parking at the MacMorran Field House, Burch Field, or by the dormitories. Overflow parking will be on the outdoor basketball courts. Handicap parking is available. School Street will be blocked off from 10:00 am- 11:30 am, please arrive early.
