Eliza Smith

Eliza joined Tilton School’s Math Department in the fall of 2016 after six years as a math teacher at The Williams School, her alma mater. While at Williams, Eliza taught middle and upper school math, coached at the junior varsity and varsity level, served as a student and class advisor, and coordinated the Math Peer Tutoring program among other leadership responsibilities. Throughout her teaching career, Eliza has taught Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, and Precalculus. In addition to her role in the Math Department at Tilton, Eliza serves as the Grade Level Leader for the 9th grade Forge Program, teaches a freshman seminar course on design thinking, mentors upperclassmen teaching assistants in the seminar course, leads the Student Government, and helps oversee the Afternoon Intensives. She received her BA in math from Franklin and Marshall College. Eliza, her husband, Merrick, and their one-year old daughter live on campus.
