The Tilton School Snowboarding team is a competitive, coed sport that competes within the Lakes Region League. Our program allows riders to compete against other schools within the following elements: Giant Slalom, Slopestyle, Boardercross, and Dual Giant Slalom.
The snowboard team welcomes riders who have experience and want to excel within their own riding abilities. We encourage all riders, both experienced and novice, to develop their own skills by providing a safe, nurturing environment to enhance their growth and self-discipline.
Our program offers weekly training at Gunstock Mountain as well as competitions at other schools’ “home” mountains, including Okemo Mountain and Loon Mountain. We have a total of eight competitions throughout the season at various locations. During the week, all riders cross-train by practicing certain riding skills in order to excel within each discipline of snowboarding. Our season starts with dry-land training in November and ends on the slopes in March. Each rider learns essential skills toward understanding how to navigate on any mountain and terrain. We teach mountain etiquette, freestyle clinics, and gate training. The main objective of Tilton School snowboarding is to help riders become skilled athletes who can have fun and be safe at the same time.
