At Tilton, our students live and learn with the faculty and staff, and the advisor shares in a partnership with the student and his or her family.
Tilton is personal, and the begins with our advising system. We get to know our students in classrooms and dormitories, in the dining hall and on the playing fields. These relationships drive everything we do together, helping teachers and students to understanding each student’s abilities, talents, skills, and interests..
From there, we work together—student, advisor, and parent—to plan a program of study that is meaningful and relevant—and driven by students’s own choices.
Advisors encourage open and honest dialog and provide effective and engaging structure, guidance, and support. Advising encompasses everything from creating a strong academic plan to helping navigate the challenges of everyday teenage life.
